Preparation for your new shed – the right way.
Preparation for your new shed – the right way.
Laying a proper shed foundation for your new outbuilding is the best way to ensure its longevity. You’ve spent time choosing just the right style, colors, and features for your shed, so it only makes sense to protect your investment by laying a solid foundation.
Our Process
By taking the time to prep the site for your new shed and lay a proper foundation, you can ensure it will last for many years. Here is our process:
- Location: Cities, townships, and neighborhood associations may have restrictions about where you place a shed. Check on those first so that we can work with you to find the best placement.
- Pad Level: We pick a height for the pad that best matches the existing grade, considering door location, drainage, and the surrounding area.
- Install: We dig out the pad area to allow for a level gravel base. If requested, we will install a timber border to separate the gravel from the area around the pad for an additional charge. We then will compact the soil before adding gravel. We will add gravel to the desired depth and compact the gravel to help reduce any settling.
- Gravel Choice: We typically use crushed concrete gravel. This is readily available, economical, and compacts well for a solid base. Other gravel choices are available upon request and prices may vary.
