Initial Contact

Once you contact us we will send you a Design Questionnaire. The Design Questionnaire will give us an idea of the project you are looking to do. It will also enable us to give you an estimate of design fees.

Landscape Consultation

This is the first time we will meet in person, generally on-site. We will go over the Design Questionnaire and share ideas of what will be included in the design. We will discuss what design fees are to be included, and we will talk about your vision for your landscape.

Budget Study

Before we proceed with the design, we will do a budget study. We will go over a price range for each area of the landscape to create a design that respects your budget.

Site Survey

We will take pictures, measure elevations, and take soil samples which will be used in the design.

Conceptual Plan

Depending on the complexity of the project, we may start the design phase with a conceptual plan.  The conceptual plan is a simple layout of all the features of your landscape. It will not have specific plant labels or materials; it is enough to get an estimate of the cost to construct the landscape and is used to decide if we should move forward with the design or make changes.

Final Plan

The final plan will have specific plants, hardscape, and other landscape features. This will allow for a detailed estimate of the construction cost and a schedule for completing the project.

Construction

Once the budget and final plans are approved, we begin the construction of the project. This is normally a combination of work done by Walden Design and our preferred contractors.

Maintenance

A landscape requires some maintenance to reach its full potential. Walden Design offers scheduled maintenance to protect your investment. We will also provide consultation if you wish to maintain it yourself.
